It seems to be the case, according to Mania. According to producer Stephen L’Heureux, Sin City 2 will go into production at the end of 2010, and that Frank Miller will follow it with a film version of Hard Boiled, the uber-detailed and hyper-violent comic written by Miller and drawn by Geoff Darrow [Slash Film].
This is surprising, and interesting, news from a pseudo-reliable source it seems. That being said, Robert Rodriguez is never not busy with something. Consider that Predators, which he wrote and is producing, is currently filming and Machete, which he did everything for, is still in post. On one hand it’s a testament to the man’s ability to multi-task, on the another it’s a perfect example of the scatterbrained-ambition that has resulted in things like Sharkboy and Lavagirl and the last Spy Kids movie.
Either way, let’s all hold hands and pray Frank Miller has no hand in directing this time around (I’m looking at you, The Spirit).
What do you think? Will Sin City 2 get made anytime soon?
