Sci-fi legend Sigourney Weaver will now be playing a vampire in director Amy Heckerling‘s upcoming comedy Vamps. The film, which also stars Alicia Silverstone, will see Weaver as Ciccerus; a blood thirsty vampire queen responsible for turning Silverstone into a fanged fatale.
The film is expected to begin shooting next month. Weaver has been great in comedy before, especially in such star image-conscious fare like Galaxy Quest, and Heckerling’s last film, I Could Never Be Your Woman, shows she has a significant talent for bringing funny, interesting roles for middle aged women to the screen. Hopefully this pairing will produce great results.
