He may have played with aliens a little too closely in Neill Blomkamp‘s District 9, but that isn’t stopping Sharlto Copley from jumping on another sci-fi blockbuster. Pajiba is reporting that Copley, along with Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia star Gemma Arterton, and Alec Baldwin are joining Men In Black 3D.
They will star alongside Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Emma Thompson, and Jemaine Clement in Barry Sonnenfeld‘s upcoming entry into the franchise. With a script from Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) and David Koepp (Spider-Man, Indy 4), “most of the action” in MIB3 will actually take place in 1969 where Josh Brolin will play a younger Tommy Lee Jones.
Alec Baldwin would play the MIB boss from 1969, while Arterton would play his secretary. Copley would take his D9 skills and “play a fast-talking Yoda type alien.” Popstar Nicole Sherzinger may have “a cameo as Clement’s girlfriend.”
Men In Black 3D hits theaters on May 25th, 2012.
