We asked, and now the answer has arrived. No, Fox Searchlight isn’t releasing a LEGO set of The Grand Budapest Hotel, but one has been made. Ahead of a Blu-ray release next week (which we’re giving away to a lucky reader), they’ve commissioned Ryan Ziegelbauer and his team of eight model builders to create Gustave H and Zero Moustafa’s prime location of Wes Anderson‘s latest feature. Made over 575 hours with 50,000 certified blocks from all over the world, one can see the construction and the final result below. Perhaps with enough support we could see this actually made available for purchase; if so, I know what I want this holiday.
The Grand Budapest Hotel is available on Blu-ray next week.
