This newest preview for Chris Weitz’ New Moon was debuted in front of Bandslam last Friday, but Summit Entertainment has now released a HD version that can be viewed online. Unlike previous trailers, this one focuses on the relationship between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Following the disaster of Bella’s 18th birthday, her vampire lover, Edward (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon Forks in the interest of her safety. But when her friend, Jacob reveals that he is a werewolf, the supernatural dangers that Bella thought had disappeared soon become more threatening than ever before.

Although the special effects seem more finished than in the previous trailer, the storyline of New Moon seems to cower behind the focus on the bodies and brawn of the male leads. In an unusual style that appears more like a tv spot, the trailer is intercut with excerpts of an interview with Lautner who introduces the character of Jacob to the New Moon fans.
