In a recent profile on the master horror director Wes Craven the LA Times has revealed that Scream 4 will start production in May. Check out the quote below:
Craven recently finished “My Soul to Take,” which is scheduled for release sometime this year. And in May, he starts on “Scream 4.”
Kevin Williamson who has written the rest of the films in the franchise, as well as I Know What You Did Last Summer and The Vampire Diaries has written the script for the fourth entry. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are returning for what is intended to be a new trilogy. /Film provides a few new hints on the film:
- The film will be set ten years later in Woodsboro, and is described as “an ensemble” which will introduce several new characters.
- Williamson has said that it will reference manga comics, Asian ghost girl movies, PG-13 horror movies, vampire films, M. Night Shyamalan movies and even torture porn.
