Skyline, the sci-fi thriller being produced and directed by Colin and Greg Strause, has just had Eric Balfour and Donald Faison sign on to the film, joining castmates Scottie Thompson, Brittany Daniel, and Crystal Reed.
Faison will play a young entrepreneur who convinces his close friend (Balfour) to come to Los Angeles. After a long night of partying in a high-rise, they are woken, along with their friends, by an eerie light beaming through the window. Not understanding what is happening, the party guests are drawn to the light, following it outside in hopes of discovering its origin. Then, without warning, they vanish into the air.
The remaining group quickly discovers that an otherworldly force is swallowing humans from around the world, wiping out the entire population. The small group of survivors is left to fight for their lives, as the world as they know it crumbles around them. The Strause Brothers have previously done visual effect work on Avatar, The Book of Eli, 300 and Constantine.
The screenplay was written by Joshua Cordes and Liam O’Donnell. Filming has begun in Los Angeles.
