Recently celebrating its 40th anniversary, there’s enough history when it comes to Saturday Night Live for its own feature-length documentary. Taking on the task to create such a film is Bao Nguyen and fittingly, the results will be revealed next week as the film will open this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. Ahead of the debut and subsequent June release, the first trailer has now landed.
Described to go “deep inside this cultural phenomenon exploring the laughter that pulses through American politics, tragedy and popular culture,” it looks like an entertaining watch (and fairly brief, clocking in at 82 minutes). Featuring interviews with Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, Chris Rock, Chevy Chase, Candice Bergen, Tom Brokaw, and more, check out the trailer below.
