Sam Raimi will shoot Oz, The Great and Powerful next year, but he already has his next film lined up at Dreamworks, Heat Vision reports.
He will direct Earp: Saints For Sinners, an adaptation of a Radical graphic novel that takes Wyatt Earp and gives it a sci-fi twist. The film is “set in a future in which he [Earp] takes on outlaws in a ravaged society where the only boomtown left is Las Vegas.” Matt Cirulnick (Paid In Full) is writing the script and he also created the comic.
Radical will provide more details at Comic-Con this week. Raimi seems to have a lot of projects in store, including the highly discussed World of Warcraft, so I’m kind of surprised he is rumored to shoot this directly after. It seems like an interesting premise, especially fitting with Raimi’s schlocky style in Evil Dead.
