With The Blackcoat’s Daughter slated for next year, writer-director Oz Perkins‘ follow-up will actually get a release before, with the Netflix-distributed I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House landing on October 28th. The thriller follows a nurse (The Affair’s Ruth Wilson) who moves into an elderly author’s house to take care of her. Little does Nurse Lily know, the house may still contain some spirits. And as we all know from the movies, if there are spirits, they ain’t nice.

Netflix is continuing its brigade of original content — from both production and distribution angles — with Perkin’s latest joining a growing number of others, even putting the company in $3 billion of debt just to fund these projects. Ahead of a release this Friday following its Toronto International Film Festival premiere last month, see the trailer below.

A young nurse, Lily (Ruth Wilson), moves in to a secluded old house to care for an elderly, reclusive horror novelist. But it seems the pair is not entirely alone. Coming to Netflix October 28.
