First Showing has reported that Robert De Niro and Yvonne Strahovski have joined an already impressive cast for Gary McKendry‘s upcoming thriller The Killer Elite. The film, which will mark the debut of writer-director McKendry, will also star Clive Owen, Jason Statham, and Dominic Purcell.
Statham will play a former Navy Seal who sets out to hunt a group of former British special forces, presumably being played by the rest of the cast. (The linked report has a more in-depth plot synopsis, but it does contain some spoilers, so I refrained from reading it.)
McKendry‘s film has already done some principal shooting in Melbourne, Australia, and will most likely continue with that location for the majority of the shoot, which is officially scheduled to begin on May 13th. IMDb has this film currently labeled as a 2010 release.
