Actors Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong are best known for their roles in the beloved 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds. The movie spawned numerous sequels, including one where Armstrong’s bad boy character Booger gets married. Besides a failed 2007 attempt at a remake starring Adam Brody and Jenna Dewan-Tatum, there’s been little interest in resurrecting the franchise since its last outing in 1994 – that is, until recently when Carradine decided to stir some rumors by hinting at a Nerds reunion.

While promoting their new reality show, King of the Nerds, Carradine told Movieweb that fans should “keep their fingers crossed” for another movie. The realization that another film could work came to him after patrons at an Atlanta restaurant “went nuts” at the sight of him and the rest of the original cast. His revelation isn’t totally unwarranted – with the popularity of shows like The Big Bang Theory, nerd culture is bigger than ever. It would also fit right in with some upcoming 80s comedy remakes, such as the one planned for Police Academy.

Would you welcome a new Revenge of the Nerds sequel?
