We posted the Super Bowl spots for Shutter Island and The Last Airbender a few hours ago. Now, Universal has premiered the spot for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood. The film stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, William Hurt, Matthew Macfadyen, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Lea Seydoux, Scott Grimes, Kevin Durand, Alan Doyle, Danny Huston and Max von Sydow. Plot: The film follows Robin (Russell Crowe) from his early days in King Richard’s army to his return to Nottingham to his creation of a band of mercenaries who challenge the sheriff and eventually try to prevent civil war.
Although this spot is a bit better than the lame trailer, it still looks really generic. I haven’t been too impressed with Ridley Scott’s recent work, so hopefully this changes my mind.
Robin Hood hits theaters May 14th, 2010.
