Disappointed by Clash of the Titans in 3D this weekend? The new trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson‘s Resident Evil: Afterlife is sure to point out it was filmed in 3D using James Cameron and Vincent Pace‘s Fusion Camera System. The film stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller and Kim Coates. Check it out below via Bloody Disgusting.
Plot: Following 2007’s Resident Evil: Extinction, Afterlife is set in the same world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead. Milla Jovovich returns as Alice as she continues her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead – and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.
I actually enjoyed the first Resident Evil movie. It had some great kills and a slick atmosphere. The second one was pretty bad and I have yet to see Extinction. It looks like Paul W.S. Anderson is using the 3D for some bloody, unsubtle fun so I’ll check it out. Did the last scene before the title cards feel ripped straight out of The Matrix or is it just me?
Resident Evil: Afterlife hits theaters September 10th.
