Gearing up for a major fall, Reese Witherspoon not only stars in our most-anticipated movie of the year (Inherent Vice) but is also a major producing force behind David Fincher‘s latest, Gone Girl. However, much of the attention will likely go to her two awards-baity roles, in Wild, from the director of Dallas Buyers Club, and The Good Lie.
Tonight we have the trailer for the latter, and while it paints the story as a fairly cliche drama, we have some faith in the director as it comes from Philippe Falardeau, the helmer behind the strong Oscar-nominated drama Monsieur Lazhar.
The true story follows Witherspoon’s character taking in four refugees of the Sudanese Civil War and features Corey Stoll, Sarah Baker, Arnold Oceng, Ger Duany, Emmanuel Jal, and Nyakuoth Weil among the cast. Check out the preview below.
The Good Lie opens on October 3rd.
