If you’ve kept up with internet chatter for much of the last year, you’ve probably heard of Srdjan Spasojevic‘s A Serbian Film. The controversial film has debuted in other parts of the country and even raised some child pornography legal issues. Now the film is coming to the US for all of us to enjoy.

Twitch has the release info, as well as a new red band trailer. An edited version of the film, rated NC-17 by the MPAA, will hit theaters next month. Distributor Invincible Pictures will also put up a VOD version FlixFling that includes five extra minutes of brutality. They also confirm it will eventually see a home video release by the end of the year. For now, check out the trailer below if you dare, followed by two new posters.

If that red band trailer isn’t enough, here is a longer one with more footage released awhile back:

Milos, a family man and ex-porn star, misses his glory days when he could provide his wife and son with a life of luxury. When a mysterious movie director offers him a succulent job, he decides to go back to work. But what he never suspected is that what they’re about to film turns out to be heartbreakingly real. The new wave of Serbian horror appears to be prepared to make French genre films look like sweet caresses. Extreme violence and sex come together in this season’s most brutal movie.

A Serbian Film hits theaters May 13th, 2011.

Will you see the film in theaters?
