Despite its plot secrecy, there hasn’t been a single blockbuster this summer with a more steady stream of updates than Ridley Scott‘s sci-fi epic Prometheus. We’ve got some more this morning, as a new Russian trailer has been released, featuring a bit more footage. With everything spoken in that language it reminds me of a big-budget update on a very different Stalker or Solaris, with the cave exploration bits mixed with the sci-fi. We’ve also got a Japanese poster which molds a few of the US ones together.

Then there is a brilliant, creepy viral video featuring Michael Fassbender as David, the Weyland Corp. android. It’s his birthday and this piece explains his basic functions, but takes a turn when we learn about his emotional capacity. Despite the many trailers, it’s great to see just little bits like this that will certainly be no part of the final film, yet help to increase anticipation.

Lastly, we’ve got some details on the theatrical cut of the film via Prometheus Forum. Ridley Scott and crew spoke at a Paris press conference (full video below) and said the cut we’ll be seeing in cinemas will be his director’s cut. That runtime will be just a hair under two hours, certainly a great length for a blockbuster. As we know how great some of his director’s cuts for his classics have been, it’s nice to hear Scott is happy with this cut, although he may just be saying it as the film as yet to be released. Without further adieu, check out the viral, Russian trailer, press conference and poster below.
