Paul Rudd had always been the link between the Apatow comedy crew and The State comedy crew; but it looks like a delicious P&J sandwich they’re finally coming together. While on the red carpet for the Time 100, Apatow revealed that
“I’m producing a movie that Paul Rudd’s in that’s shooting in the fall which David Wain wrote with Ken Marino, and they’re going to announce that soon.”
Obviously Apatow has churned out quite a few movies lately, but one that is written by members of The State (an 90’s sketch comedy show that featured Wain and Marino) is particularly exciting. It’ll be interesting if it can blend the heart of an Apatow movie with the absurdity of The State.
