It’s that time again. Time for another Saw-esque franchise to grow and grow. The first Paranormal Activity blew our minds after starting out with just a $15,000 dollar budget and grossing about $193 million world wide. Paranormal Activity 2 made use of a 3 million dollar budget after grossing more than $156 million world wide. Now Bloody Disgusting reports that Oren Peli, who directed the first film and will be producing the third, has officially confirmed that Paranormal Activity 3 has been locked in with a release date of October 21st, 2011. Paramount Pictures will let their wallets be fattened and audience’s eyes be scarred once more before next year is up. We don’t know what to expect just yet from the third installment, but we can be sure that it is likely to start some talking and bring in some serious dough. Let’s just hope that this cash comes from a movie that’s more scary instead of similar to the previous films.
