Remember back in 2007 amidst the incredible slew of films, there was one small indie film that delighted audiences. That film was Once and now director John Carney is back. Instead of a musical, he has a sci-fi comedy. Zonad stars Simon Delaney, David Pearse, Rory Keenan and Janice Byrne. Check the trailer out below or over at Apple.

Plot: “Uproariously Funny” — The Irish Times. “Gleefully Unhinged” — Variety. A nutty comedy from co—directors and writers John Carney and Kieran Carney, Zonad is in cinemas March 17th. Zonad (Simon Delaney) is from space..probably. Or so the Cassidy family assume when they discover an apparent alien in a shiny red space suit and helmet passed out on the living room floor beside the drinks cabinet. But Zonad is not a space cadet in the literal sense. This alcoholic chancer has escaped from a rehabilitation clinic. At first, Zonad tries to evade the warm welcome of the villagers, but the procession of wanton women and free beer soon gets the better of him.

Zonad was released in Ireland last March, but doesn’t have a US date yet.
