Since any New York cinephile has a nearly suffocating wealth of theatrical options, we figured it’d be best to compile some of the more worthwhile repertory showings into one handy list. Displayed below are a few of the city’s most reliable theaters and links to screenings of their weekend offerings — films you’re not likely to see in a theater again anytime soon, and many of which are, also, on 35mm. If you have a chance to attend any of these, we’re of the mind that it’s time extremely well-spent.
Film Society of Lincoln Center
The second weekend of “Jane and Charlotte Forever” offers two from Varda, a rare Rivette picture, Serge Gainsbourg’s tribute to his daughter, Zeffirelli‘s Jane Eyre, and a Bertrand Tavernier title, among others.
Lubitsch, Clair, and Griffith wrap up “Modern ‘Matinees’: Fashionably Late.”
“All That Jack (Cole)” comes to an end with Cukor‘s Les Girls on Friday and The I Don’t Care Girl this Sunday.
Anthology Film Archives
The American International Pictures series continues.
Three Vertov features across Saturday and Sunday.
Three programs dedicated to Australian avant-garde filmmaker Jim Burns will be presented.
“Heat & Vice: The Films of Michael Mann” begins with Thief on Friday, Heat on Saturday, and The Last of the Mohicans on Sunday.
Museum of the Moving Image
“See It Big! Documentary” continues with Woodstock on Friday and Waltz with Bashir this Saturday.
The Wolfpack‘s Angulo brothers will present Reservoir Dogs on Sunday.
Fargo and Blood Diner (on 35mm) play at midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Groundhoug Day and a print of The Phantom Tollbooth play around noon on Saturday and Sunday, though the former is currently sold-out on its first day.

A new restoration of Antonio Pietrangeli‘s I Knew Her Well begins its run this week.
A print of National Velvet screens this Sunday.

While not repertory, Kinoscope, on Friday night, offers a free screening of writer-director Christopher Jason Bell‘s 2015 feature The Winds That Scatter, along with Reinaldo Marcus Green‘s short, Stop.
