And Sherlock Holmes 2 is just one of the few. The Playlist reports that Noomi Rapace, acclaimed star of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and both of its sequels, is in talks for roles in a variety of upcoming Hollywood action films. For starters, she is meeting with director Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille) about appearing alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 4.
The sequel talks continue with the possibility of Rapace earning a role in Sherlock Holmes 2, Guy Ritchie‘s follow-up to the box-office hit, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. The third and final film mentioned in the report is This Means War, for which Rapace is looking at a villainous role. This film directed by McG and produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.
Considering the popularity of the aforementioned Swedish trilogy, Hollywood’s sudden interest in Rapace shouldn’t really come as a surprise to many. There’s really not enough information at this point to speculate about which of these projects may end up panning out for the actress, but I suspect she will be seen on more domestic screens soon enough.
