The first full-length trailer for Gareth Edwards‘ prequel Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, following a group of rebels with a secret plan to destroy the Death Star, has arrived. With a cast led by Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Mads Mikkelson, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Jonathan Aris, and now James Earl Jones, it’s perhaps the most enticing Star Wars film yet, thanks to the director at the helm, and that notion is further cemented by this new preview.
“The Force is basically in Star Wars like a religion, and they’re losing their faith in the period that we start the movie,” Edwards tells EW. “We were trying to find a physical location we could go to that would speak to the themes of losing your faith and the choice between letting the Empire win, or evil win, and good prevailing. It got embodied in this place we called Jedha,” he noted, revealing a new location.
