Dimension Films has posted a second trailer on YouTube comprised of all new footage for Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, opening August 28, 2009. Halloween II picks up moments after the events of the first film and promises to be wildly different from the 1981 sequel of the same name.
The first film was categorically awful, something even the most hardened Rob Zombie fans recognize. But it made money and Zombie, after swearing off a sequel, felt compelled to return so hopefully there’s a story here worth telling. The new trailer, embedded below, has a few interesting moments and one shot that’s particularly well executed.
The film should benefit from drastically lowered expectations, but the persistent rumor that the thing was shot pretty much sans screenplay is less than encouraging. Only a few more months until we know for sure.
Hat tip to Shock Till You Drop.
