One of the perks of living in New York City is the chance to see some truly amazing films in theaters that may not get to screen in many other U.S. territories. This is just one of the reasons that NDNF is such an exciting film festival.

Now in its 40th year, The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center present New Directors/New Films, a screening series dedicated to the discovery of new works by emerging and dynamic filmmaking talent. Featuring films from all over the globe, this year NDNF will screen 28 feature films (24 narrative, 4 documentary) and 7 short films representing 27 different countries. It’s a truly inclusive cinematic experience with some films fresh to the U.S. and some that snagged attention at Sundance and SXSW.

Here at the Film Stage we’ll be posting reviews of a selection of these featured films to better help you navigate your way through the festival’s schedule,  and to let you know what’s worth keeping an eye out for.

New Directors/New Films runs from March 23 – April 3; tickets can be purchased at at the box offices at The Film Society of Lincoln Center and The Museum of Modern Art or through the fest’s site, where you can also find bonus features including videos from New Directors/New Films filmmakers from years past.
