The director behind Doomsday and The Descent, Neil Marshall has been attached to Burst, Variety reports. Burst follows a group of stranded travelers who meet during a blizzard and get stalked by a malevolent force that makes people spontaneously combust. Ghost House partners Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will produce the 3-D horror film, along with Lionsgate.
Does anyone get bad Whiteout vibes from the description? The spontaneously combusting people should be a nice 3D gimmick tough. What it more interesting to me is Marshall’s current project, Centurion. It is a the period film that stars Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds, Fish Tank) and follows a group of Roman soldiers fight for their lives behind enemy lines after their legion is ambushed during the Roman invasion of England in 117 A.D. Check out two pictures below.
Centurion is looking at a summer 2010 release with a release for Burst unknown.
What do you think of Marshall and his new projects?
