It’s always great to see two strong female forces in Hollywood team up for a film. After launching her career with a string of acclaimed documentaries including On the Ropes and American Teen, Nanette Burstein ventured into narrative filmmaking with Going The Distance. THR now reports her next project. Burstein will team up with Please Give writer/director Nicole Holofcener for her script of an Unforgiving World.

The romantic drama will be produced by Focus Features it is a remake of a French in which “a newlywed couple working at the same architectural film end up vying for the same life-changing position. The film shows the different outcomes in parallel storylines depending on who gets the job.”

I enjoyed Going the Distance and thought American Teen was impressive. Holofcener’s Please Give was one of the most under-appreciated films of last year and the talented writer/director was also behind Friends With Money, Lovely & Amazing and Walking and Talking. I’m definitely looking forward to this match up.

What do you think about Burstein and Holofcener teaming up?
