Apparently Taken and District B-13 director Pierre Morel has found his next project and it’s not what you would expect. According to /Film the project is a paranoia thriller titled Signals. /Film states “the storyline is apparently a secret, but it’s expected to take on the tone of conspiracy thrillers like Three Days of the Condor.” At this point it is unknown who Morel is considering to play the characters, when production is going to begin or even a tentative release date. This is not surprising since Morel is still putting the final touches on his latest action film starring John Travolta, From Paris With Love. This film’s trailer can be seen here. It comes out February 2010.
This sounds like an interesting project for Morel. He really is one of the best new talents in the action genre. Him and Neveldine/Taylor are what I think of when I think of the new generation of action directors. I can’t wait to see what Morel can do in a thriller setting, hopefully finding appropriate room for his action-fused eye while not oversaturating what sounds like a good story (anything like Three Days of the Condor has to be incredible, right?).
