Cinematical brings us news today that singer/actress Miley Cyrus will be starring in the upcoming thriller Wake. The film will be developed by Christopher Landon, who co-wrote Disturbia. Wake, based on the book of the same name, is the first in a trilogy and could strike a big chord with the Twilight fans.The film revolves around a 17 year old girl (Cyrus) who can apparently see into other people’s dreams. Many people are starting to draw comparisons between the Wake trilogy and Twilight trilogy. It wouldn’t surprise me if Wake turned out to be as big as Twilight.
I haven’t read the books so I can’t comment on if the source material is any good or not but I’d expect it to be similar to what you’d find in Twilight.
Personally I’m not a Miley fan, I don’t think she can act at all and her singing isn’t much better. I’m really not sure why she is allowed to act and I can’t see this film doing well critically with her in the role.
