Despite how much we all hate Michael Bay, the man does know his technical stuff. He is currently underway filming Transformers 3 and we reported it would be in 3D. We now have confirmation from MarketSaw that the film will be shot in native 3D, unlike the post-converted fiascos like Clash of the Titans, Alice In Wonderland and most recently, The Last Airbender. Check out the quote from 3D pioneer Vince Pace below.
“Trying to lay low and do what I do best. We took delivery of the first Alexa cameras for Hugo and have 23 more on the way. Transformers has also signed on to shoot 3D throughout the film. I am working on a big Disney film but can’t mention the name and are lining up five more films. Just wrapped on additional photography for Resident Evil and Tron. Currently in Hawaii and flying out to London for Hugo.”
By Hugo, he is referring to Martin Scorsese‘s next film Hugo Cabret and I can only assume the Disney film he is talking about is Pirates 4. Check out the $1.5 million 3D Pace rig below.
Transformers 3 hits theaters next summer.
Will native 3D make you want to check out the film?
