M. Night Shyamalan‘s horror-thriller story Devil is set to be directed by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, who previously did the Quarantine remake. Variety reports Chris Messina (Away We Go, Vicky Cristina Barcelona) is attached to star as Bowden, a sobered-up homicide detective. The plot is being kept secretive for the time being. Brian Nelson, who previously wrote 30 Days of Night has written the script.
I love Chris Messina. He was the best part of Away We Go and I look forward to seeing his promising future in film. I don’t know about another Shyamalan story, considering his last couple have been terrible, but with Nelson behind the script it should be interesting.
Shooting begins October 26th in Toronto.
