Yes, it’s been rumbling for awhile but the Men in Black will return, in 3D. Director Barry Sonnenfield told Showbiz at the Tribeca Film Festival kick-off party that the film is “ready to roll”. It will be in 3D and that both Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones have signed on to return. After Spider-Man 4 fell apart at Sony they are looking for a Memorial Day 2011 film and this is the one. Tropic Thunder co-writer Etan Coen is finishing up the script now.
/Film also reports the rumor that SPOILER ALERT – the film will “feature a time travel scenario which would team a present-day J with a younger Agent K, possibly played by Josh Brolin.” We also reported that Sacha Baron Cohen and Jemaine Clement may play aliens in the film.
Will Smith was choosing this or Andrew Niccol‘s The City That Sailed for his next project and it looks like the made the (wrong) choice. Smith hasn’t made a movie since 2008’s Seven Pounds so it is no surprise he is returning with this nearly guaranteed success.
What do you think about another Men In Black, in 3D?
