After breaking out in Bridesmaids, Melissa McCarthy has since proven she can carry a film on her shoulders, with last year’s Identity Thief and The Heat both grossing far over the $100 million domestic mark. If one needed further proof of that fact, today brings the first trailer for her next film, Tammy.

Based solely around McCarthy’s character, rather than any of its other stars — including Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Gary Cole, Mark Duplass, Toni Collette, Nat Faxon, Dan Aykroyd, and Kathy Bates — we follow her on a hilarious hold-up, backed by Coolio‘s Gangsta’s Paradise. Sporting a Shia LaBeouf-esque mask, one can see the teaser, poster, and synopsis below for the film directed by McCarthy’s husband, Ben Falcone.

Tammy (McCarthy) is having a bad day. She’s totaled her clunker car, gotten fired from her thankless job at a greasy burger joint, and instead of finding comfort at home, finds her husband getting comfortable with the neighbor in her own house.
It’s time to take her boom box and book it. The bad news is she’s broke and without wheels. The worse news is her grandma, Pearl (Sarandon), is her only option—with a car, cash, and an itch to see Niagara Falls. Not exactly the escape Tammy had in mind. But on the road, with grandma riding shot gun, it may be just what Tammy needs.

Tammy opens on July 2nd.
