As Sundance Film Festival rolls around once again there are still a number of films from last year’s festival that have yet to reach audiences, but will finally do so this year. We highlighted two of the best to look out for with Antonio Campos‘ Simon Killer and Quentin Dupieux’s Wrong, and now we’ve got another hitting theaters this spring. After featuring an early trailer, a theatrical version arrived for the latest film from Mark Webber (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Hottest State).
Titled The End of Love, Webber’s drama (which he wrote, directed, produced and starred in) follows the actor as a single parent with a two-year-old son. We were positive on the film back at Sundance, and said while its a “bit too meandering for its own good, it shows the promise of something more” as Webber has delivered something “mature and honest.” Joined by a supporting cast including Amanda Seyfried, Jason Ritter, Jocelin Donahue, Michael Cera and Shannyn Sossamon, check out the new trailer and poster below.
Synopsis:
When the mother of his two-year-old son Isaac suddenly passes away, struggling actor Mark (played by writer/director Mark Webber) is forced to grapple with his ability to grow up. As he kindles a relationship with a young single mother (Shannyn Sossamon), he begins to realize that he can no longer remain in denial about the real-life consequences his choices have on Isaac (Isaac Love, Webber’s real-life son). Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, The End of Love is an intimate and stunningly honest portrait of a young father in transition between the life he’s been working for and the one that’s waiting for him.
The End of Love hits VOD on January 21st, before a limited release on March 1st.
