As Marc Forster tinkers with making his zombie drama World War Z a feature-length, possibly respectable, summer blockbuster, the helmer is already looking toward his next project. He’s lined up Cowboy Ninja Viking at Universal, as well as the WWII-set film The Magician, but now he may be heading into a fantasy world over at Disney.

The Wrap reports that Forster is in talks to direct a project titled Imagining Nathan, coming from a script by Martin Hynes. Details are a bit sparse, but set up at Zucker Productions and Mayhem Pictures, the film follows our six-year-old title character who, after the death of his parents, goes into a fantasy world. We then jump 30 years ahead and our character actually has a condition which finds him in this cartoon-like world and his sister helps him battle his demons.

Forster has had some fantasy-esque elements in his films before, but I’m curious to see if he can handle something seemingly fully realized as this. With the backing of a major studio like Disney, he certainly has a foundation, but considering how his big-budget projects have fared, it’s somewhat worrisome.

What do you think about Forster directing this fantasty project?
