It appears the upcoming psychological thriller Man On Ledge is seeking some big names to join Sam Worthington, First Showing is reporting, to the tune of Anthony Mackie, Jaimie Bell, and possibly Amy Adams.

The film is about an apparent suicide attempt that is actually a cover for a jewel heist. Sam Worthington will play a wrongfully imprisoned ex-cop, who is conveniently temporarily out of jail while all this goes down. Mackie will play his ex-partner. Bell will be his brother, who is masterminding the jewel heist, and Adams is looking to play the police psychologist trying to talk the title character down.

Summit Entertainment is producing the film, which will be Asger Leth‘s feature directorial debut.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again: Anthony Mackie has buzzworthy potential as an award-winning actor. His performance in The Hurt Locker was fantastic and really underrated. Though I don’t think this project is it, I am looking for him to have a huge critical breakthrough and soon (e.g. 2011’s The Adjustment Bureau). Regardless, his involvement in this project, along with Bell‘s, certainly has me intrigued. I look forward to the end result.

What do you think about all the names tied to this project? Will this be Mackie’s breakthrough?
