French director/producer Luc Besson (The Professional, Taken) is eying a multi-picture deal with a major US studio. Although his productions have largely been independent of the major studios, his recent successes have lead studio executives to take notice and offer the filmmaker production deals.

Deadline New York is reporting that the Fifth Element director has been offered contracts by Sony, Fox and Universal. It is believed that Sony is currently leading the pack to acquire his two upcoming productions. The first, Section Eight, is a intergalactic prison adventure and the other, Columbiana, is a drama set in Latin America.
