The trailer for my most-anticipated film was released earlier this week and we gave you 90 gorgeous wallpapers from it. Today, Fox Searchlight has launched the Facebook page and the official site for Terrrence Malick‘s The Tree of Life.

Over on that official site, you can listen to the first piece from Alexandre Desplat‘s score. Desplat has most recently provided the score for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, The King’s Speech, Tamara Drewe, and The Ghost Writer all this year. I’ve extracted an mp3 from the official site and you can listen to the beautiful thing below or download it here (right-click and save as).

UPDATE: We got word that the music used in the trailer and official site actually comes from Patrick Cassidy‘s Famine Remembrance, and is titled Funeral March. You can find out more on Amazon and listen below.

The Tree of Life hits theaters May 27th, 2011.

What did you think of this piece of score?
