With Doug Liman directing a Musketeers film, competition is heating up with Paul W.S. Anderson also taking on a 3D version. Heat Vision is reporting the majority of the major cast has been decided. Here are the roles that have been filled:
- Logan Logerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) will play the lead “D’Artagnan, a young man who leaves home to become a member of the fighting force of the French king’s royal household.”
- Ray Stevenson (The Book of Eli) is Porthos.
- Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans) is Athos.
- Matthew Macfadyen (Robin Hood) is Aramis.
- Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) is Cardinal Richelieu.
- Mads Mikkelsen (Valhalla Rising) is Rochefort.
- Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) is Milady de Winter, “a former love of Athos who is described as 17th century Bond girl.”
- Orlando Bloom isn’t confirmed but there is an offer out for him to “play nemesis the Duke of Buckingham.”
The amount of talent being wasted in a Paul W.S. Anderson film is astounding. The project is slated to begin shooting in September.
