Not too long ago Land of The Lost director Brad Silberling expressed interest in doing a sequel to Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events which was released back in 2004. Silberling stated that he has kept in contact consistently with a screen writer on how to develop the script. Silberling recently spoke to MTV where he further elaborated and stated that he may use stop-motion animation for the sequel. He described it as “incredible detail and very twisted artistry”.
Having recently re-watched Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events I can still say that I like that film quite a bit. I think Lemony Snicket’s universe could work perfectly with stop-motion animation. It is a fantastic form of animation and this series calls for a dark tone which this technology could easily provide.
