As I exclaimed in my monthly rundown, as a fan of Guillermo del Toro‘s previous work, I should be unequivocally excited regarding the prospects of his biggest budget work yet, but I’m still on the fence. If Pacific Rim succeeds, it could be one of the most purely entertaining studio efforts this year, but if it’s a mindless smash-em-up, it might not be far removed from the latest Michael Bay blockbuster.
Much has been discussed about the film’s modest tracking and Warner Bros. seems to reinforce the claim by dropping yet another full-length trailer merely a week before the film arrives in theaters. Focusing more on the human element, they are hoping it provides a different angle to those not yet sold. The studio seems to pulling out all the stops, screening the film for Yeezus himself, who had kind words to say to his nearly 10 million Twitter followers. Check out his claim and see the new trailer as well as a barrage of clips and featurettes below.
I saw a pre-screening of Pacific Rim yesterday and it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time.

This is not another "Robot" movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master.
