Last spring we got sad news that Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard‘s The Cabin In The Woods would not make its January 2011 release date. The film already been rescheduled twice due to the collapse of MGM. Well, MGM are back on their feet with The Hobbit and Bond 23, but we haven’t heard a peep about this monster horror flick. Goddard, who wrote Cloverfield and directed his film, and Whedon, who wrote Woods and is busy shooting The Avengers, have taken matters into their own hands.

Update: Sadly, it looks like this campaign is entirely fan-created. Let’s hope it doesn’t have the track record of other Whedon campaigns by fans. Have a look below.

This past week, a Twitter account (@EnterTheCabin), a Facebook page aptly titled Release Joss Whedon’s Cabin In The Woods, and an official site with the warning above have all launched touting their frustration. The film is 100% completed and just needs a distributor. They’ve also released two poster below. With the excellent case of Richard Jenkins, Chris Hemsworth (Thor, for goodness’ sakes), Bradley Whitford, Jesse Williams and Kristen Connolly, it is time to friend up and support the campaign!
