Only two weeks after it was announced that both writer/director Levine and hot-to-trot actress Anna Kendrick had joined Mandate’s untilted “Cancer” project, it appears the young filmmaker is still filling his plate. This time with a project “in a tone like ‘Twilight’-meets-‘Shaun of the Dead‘” [THR].
The tile of the project’s Warm Bodies, and it’s based on a self-published (and soon-to-be published by Atria Books) novel of the same named by Isaac Marion. Check out Marion’s short story “I Am a Zombie Filled With Love” for a little taste of the source material.
“Warm Bodies” is the novel-version of this short story, telling the story of an “existential zombie romance set at the end of the world.” [The Playlist]
In a media world full of zombies and vampires, I guess why not?
There is not cast to speak as of yet, unless someone got hired in the last few hours. Which is entirely possible.
