After reuniting for Darren Aronofsky‘s Noah, Jennifer Connelly and Russell Crowe have booked another project, and they’re adding yet another connection to their hit A Beautiful Mind. Deadline reports the actress has signed on to star in Winter’s Tale, the directorial debut from Mind scribe Akiva Goldsman.
Based on Mark Helprin‘s 1983 novel of the same name, the project is one of fantasy, taking place alternatively in 19th Century and present-day Manhattan, involving a thief who falls for the dying daughter of a rich patriarch who’s house he’s broken in to. The cast is already stand-out, also featuring Will Smith, Colin Farrell, William Hurt, Jessica Brown Findlay, Matt Bomer, Eva Marie Saint and Lucy Griffiths. Connelly is coming aboard as mother of the daughter, with a three-month production kicking off momentarily in New York City.
In other casting news, Deadline also lets us know that True Blood star Deborah Ann Woll is the latest addition to Zac Efron‘s next indie effort, Are We Officially Dating?. Written and directed by Tom Gormican, whose script for the film ended up on the 2010 Black List, the film also stars Miles Teller and follows a group of friends in NYC who take a vow to stay single. The Ruby Sparks star joins as an ex-wife of one of the main trio. Expect the rest of the casting to come through soon, as production kicks off in November.
Are you looking forward to these two projects? Excited by a Beautiful Mind reunion (again)?
