If you like movies but wish there was more blood and body parts flying at your face, we’ve got good news. Japanese gore master Takashi Miike, best known for his ultra-violent masterpieces Audition and Ichi the Killer, is being pursued to direct House of the Damned 3D. As reported by BleedingCool, the 3D horror film — which will be set and filmed in Louisiana — follows five friends who “band together to save the historic part of their town and inadvertently become targets of a serial killer after uncovering the truth behind a series of grisly murders that went unsolved.”
If hired, the project will be the one of first U.S. feature films directed by Miike. Last August, he also made a deal to do an American remake of Ninja Kids!!!, his live-action feature based on a classic manga and anime film.
While his involvement is still unconfirmed, casting has seen some progress with Twilight’s Booboo Stewart signed on to star. But the producers better hurry up if they want to make their March shooting date. Those horrific 3D murders aren’t going to film themselves.
Do you think Miike’s style will translate into an American horror film?
