With an April start being eyed for Bryan Singer‘s lengthly X-Men: Days of Future Past production, its busy stars will have to be precise when it comes to shooting other films in 2013. Thankfully, it looks like James McAvoy has it figured out, as reports have come in he’s being lined up to star in DreamWorks’ Julian Assange biopic aka the untitled WikiLeaks film.
Variety has the news, which indicate McAvoy is stepping in for Joel Kinnaman, who had been initially rumored for the role of Daniel Domcheit-Berg, cohort to our main character, who is being played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Bill Condon‘s project is scripted by Josh Singer and will focus on David Leigh and Luke Harding‘s WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War On Secrecy, as well as Domscheit-Berg‘s own Inside WikiLeaks: My Time With Julian Assange At The World’s Most Dangerous Website.
The trade has more information on the exact relationship between these two men, but it sounds like a promising project for such a recent event — especially considering how accurate it’s aiming to be, going from Domscheit-Berg’s own accounts. McAvoy is a strong replacement for the RoboCop star, so hopefully we get news if this one is aiming to start before or after his X-Men follow-up soon.
Are you looking forward to a WikiLeaks film led by these fine actors?
