Remember that Abrams/Spielberg collaboration we reported last week? Then the secret Abrams project that will see a teaser trailer before Iron Man 2? That project is now confirmed to be one in the same and titled Super 8. Check out more details below via THR.
- J.J. Abrams will write the original script and direct.
- Steven Spielberg will produce with Amblin Entertainment.
- The 90 second teaser shown before Iron Man 2 was shot a month ago.
- Production for the actual film will begin this fall.
- Super 8 will be released by Paramount next summer.
- The film will cost $45 million-$50 million.
- It has nothing to do with Cloverfield.
- Will be shot “traditionally” (not handheld).
- It takes place in late 1979.
In other Bad Robot news:
- Abrams will still have time to direct Star Trek 2, which doesn’t hit theaters until June 29th, 2012.
- Bad Robot team has already cut the trailer for the Harrison Ford and Rachel McAdams comedy Morning Glory, coming this November. Expect to see it soon.
