By way of actress/producer Mariel Hemingway (granddaughter of Ernest), Hemingway’s posthumous Parisian memoir A Moveable Feast (published in 1964) is set to be adapted for the silver screen, with Jonh Goldstone, of Goldstone Film Enterprises, producing.

Though this news is rather standard fodder, the material behind the news is what raises the bar. Feast is a brilliantly-written series of journal-like musings, by Hemingway, on writing, drinking and friendship. One friend he observes in particular, and with particular criticism, is F. Scott Fitzgerald, the tortured genius who wrote The Great Gatsby.

Personally, it is one of my favorite books of all time and I would love to see how they would adapt the stories told throughout.

What do you think of this news? Do you like Ernest Hemingway?
