It’s hard to not be amazed by Guillermo Del Toro‘s ability to take on several projects at once. In a interview that aired on Simon Mayo’s BBC radio show, Del Toro spilled some details on his upcoming projects. After many rumors flying around on The Hobbit, he finally confirmed they will indeed be making two movies based off of the book and of course adding in some of their own subplots. When Mayo asked if Andy Serkis (known for portraying the character Smeagol) would be returning, Guillermo answered with a yes as well as announcing that Ian McKellen (Gandalf) and Hugo Weaving (Elrond) would return as well.
When asked about his other projects Del Toro assured Mayo that he would only be producing Jekyll and Hyde. Frankenstein however is a different story. He will be directing the film and has already cast Doug Jones as the monster. Make-up tests are scheduled to begin over the next several weeks.
