Considering his last film, the fantasy thriller The Hole, took about three years from its premiere to actual release, Joe Dante‘s next project is coming together rather quickly. We’ve got news, via a press release today, that production is looking to begin later this month in Los Angeles for his next film, titled Air Disturbance. The found footage horror film already has wrangled a cast together as well, with The Stepfather star Dylan Walsh teaming with A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Robert Englund.
Jeremy Sklar (Freerunner) has provided the script, which still has yet to cast the main female role, but it will follow a “transcontinental flight from Los Angeles to Toronto. Walsh plays Sam Davidson, a widowed father of two, whose wife recently committed suicide. When strange atmospheric conditions begin to affect the aircraft, Sam protects his children and his psychic girlfriend from some of the other passengers, particularly a fanatical minister (Englund) who believes that the supernatural phenomena could be a sign from God.” Check out a early sales poster from Dread Central below as we await more information.
Air Disturbance will land in theaters in 2013.
